What are U2NCLE and USS_U2NCLE ?
U2NCLE is a family of scalable parallel flow simulation codes that solve the Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (UnRANS) equations for complex geometries represented by multielement untructured grids with arbitrary block connectivity. It is being developed by the Computational Simulation and Design Center at Mississippi State University (MSU). U2NCLE is a research code that has evolved over the past few years under support primarily from the Office of Naval Research, and is continuously being extended and improved. U2NCLE has been applied to a number of flows of Navy interest, including submarine, propulsor and surface ship flows.
USS_U2NCLE
is a graphical user interface for using the U2NCLE
flow simulation code. It includes various tools that
simplify the use of U2NCLE for
analysis and design of Navy hydrodynamics applications. USS_U2NCLE
currently includes SolidMesh
(geometry repair and grid generation), DIVA (for solution
visualization), and graphical tools to ease the process of obtaining
flow solutions. Online documentation is also included under the
umbrella of USS_U2NCLE.
U2NCLE, and USS_U2NCLE are works in progress and are continuously enhanced over time.
What is the Availability of USS_U2NCLE and U2NCLE ?
The primary users of USS_U2NCLE and U2NCLE are the SimCenter, the US Navy, and other users designated by the Navy (ONR Contact: Dr. L. Patrick Purtell). This is also the primary purpose of the USS_U2NCLE user interface. Mississippi State University retains the intellectual property rights to U2NCLE, USS_U2NCLE, but does not market these codes. All versions of U2NCLE, USS_U2NCLE, SolidMesh, and DIVA are copyrighted by Mississippi State University.
Although U2NCLE is generally used in support of specific Navy contracts, the SimCenter occasionally supports US industry directly, through individually arranged sponsored collaborations. Typically, the SimCenter supports client US companies in their analysis and design studies, using U2NCLE for CFD analysis. Such arrangements are always subject to US critical technologies export controls, restrictions arising from government contracts, and are not undertaken without concurrence of the governmental agencies who have sponsored the enabling research.
Notice: All versions of USS_U2NCLE, U2NCLE, SolidMesh, DIVA, and supporting web-based materials are copyrighted. They are made available by Mississippi State University for use only as designated by the U.S. Government and are not to be reproduced or distributed except as authorized by the U.S. Government or Mississippi State University. All versions of USS_U2NCLE, U2NCLE, SolidMesh, and DIVA are subject to both U.S. Critical Technologies Export Controls and Other Restrictions arising from US Government Contracts.
